When I sent my cousin Yim the itinerary to China, she immediately forwarded it to her sister, SK. I had originally planned for this trip to be just for Bro and I - our annual trip together but it was beginning to evolve into a family affair. At first, I wasn't sure I was up for it as my travel style is not everyone else's travel style. I knew Bro and Yim would be okay but had no clue about SK.
SK was pretty fast to reply back. She was interested in joining us but was in the middle of a project that she did not know would finish in time for her to come along. She set my expectations accordingly so, I continued to plan with out her but keeping her in mind at the same time.
Weeks went by and I didn't hear from SK. I just assumed she was focused on finishing up her project. In the meantime, my initial trepidation about having her join the trip actually turned into wishful thinking that she WOULD come along. We are two sets of siblings who are also siblings. Bro and I are the oldest two. I have not seen SK for at least 20+ years and I think it's about the same for my brother.
This past week, I finally got that email I had been waiting for. SK wrote to tell us that she will indeed be joining us on our trip to China! Bro and I will meet up with her in Shanghai and with Yim in Beijing. SK's timing could not have been more perfect as I literally had just started putting together the itinerary for Shanghai and Beijing so I have now brought her into my planning loop. I've also informed Genessa, of Old Road Tours, that SK is now confirmed as the 4th person in our little tour group. Bit by bit, things are coming together!
Woohoo!! So, this will be a family reunion and a family trip and I could not be more excited about it! There's going to be a LOT of eating and a LOT of laughing on this trip!
